Mr. and Mrs. Smith

This is my first post and Mrs. Brad Smith! It feels great to be married, and it was really great to get back from our honeymoon to a family of 3 (just to clarify...Brad, Milo, and me). We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon to many warm, fun places: Grand Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan, Honduras! Brad and I enjoyed spending a lot of quality time together. Most of the stops we greatly enjoyed, but there was this one...Costa Maya...where we both were scared for our lives. We were all excited because many of the crew on the ship told us to head to "downtown beach" because it was to beautiful and inexpensive! AWESOME! We could get some cheap massages and ride some jet skis. Then we could just soak up the sun and enjoy ourselves. Well, lets just say that it looked as though all of the tree tops there had been bulldozed and the beach that the non-airconditioned bus took us to was desolate. Luckily while we were there we met another couple, Pam and Rick, who were from the ship. Pam was a nurse and Rick was in the Navy. When I saw that Rick and Brad looked scared to death, I decided it was probably a good idea to get the next taxi and head to the pool not too far from where the ship had docked! Pheww, just glad we made it out of there alive.

Since we have gotten back we have gotten our kitchen organized with all of our new dishes, silverware, and pots and pans. It is so nice just to have all this stuff organized finally. We also have been getting the remainder of the stuff from my apartment and into our house. I never thought moving from a one-bedroom apartment would be so difficult and require so many trips! Lets just say, lots of stuff will be given to goodwill! I will post pictures later of our house, in particular our newly painted bathroom and newly decorated bedroom! Until then, I must go write thank you notes!

BLOG HIATUS

Wow! It has been so crazy around here! I meant to post pictures after the last blog, but so much has been going on that I have not actually sat down to upload and post. The wedding planning is coming along very well as we have most of the BIG things planned and in order! All I know is...I am READY to get married. Today makes 67 days until our wedding...YAY!! However, in a week and 1/2 my summer and planning time will come to a screeching halt and my summer school session will begin...YUCK!! I think I can find motivation during this next school semester because I am getting married!! I am so thankful for all the help my family has given me in planning this awesome wedding! I am BLESSED!

Well, I just had to do a quick blog because I had to break the "non-blogging streak." Stay tuned for our engagement pictures to be posted. I cannot wait!

Please keep us in your prayers!!

THE DATE!!!!/wedding registry

I feel so much better to finally have a date for the wedding & it is........JULY 31,2010! WoooHooo! We can all sleep easier now knowing this! Now we can find a photographer, caterer, preacher, and make honeymoon arrangements! Now, the next question everyone has is "where are you having the wedding?" This detail is yet to be determined, BUT 2 places are on reserve for the event. Brad and I have decided to have a family only wedding and a reception to include friends and family! We are so excited, and I think this plan will work out very well:-)

Since my OBGYN clinicals are finally over, I have 2 days extra off/ week to plan my wedding! Soooooo...on the agenda for this weeks includes the following: 1) food tasting with a catering company, 2) trip to low's bridal to go bridal gown/bridesmaids dress shopping! I have more things to mark off the list!

Also, I wanted to let all know where Brad and I are registered so far:

Williams Sonoma

and

Macys

CHECK IT OUT!!:-)

The wedding planning has begun!

Let me preface this post by saying, we DO NOT have a wedding date set just yet. Brad proposed to me Friday, March 5th and 3 days later, my mom, two sisters and I were off to look at potential wedding venues and bridal gowns. It is very overwhelming trying to find the perfect venue which is available for the perfect date. We have a small window to get married due to my school sessions. This proposes a challenge because we have only 5 months or so to plan a wedding. We found some great options as far as places to have the wedding, but we are trying to pick the best option. We are getting closer, but I will continue to lose sleep until we nail down a date and place for the wedding! Those of you who have been in my shoes know the feeling I am sure! HEEELLLLPP!! Also, whenever I try to fall asleep at night small wedding details flow through my head keeping me up forever! Does this ever go away?? OR am I just CRAZY?!?! We found a few bridal gowns I love but have only been to 1 place so far. Tomorrow, Mom and I plan to do some more planning! I also finish up this semester's clinicals up this week; that will free up a lot of time to wedding plan! Stay tuned for more details and please PRAY FOR US!! Seriously! Thanks for reading:-)
